How I create effective, memorable training experiences

Tailored workshops for better outcomes
All my training experiences are tailored to the business or industry most relevant to the participants. For example, if I’m facilitating training for a corporate team or an industry group, the presentation, stimulus material and best-practice examples are adapted by me to take into account the specific needs of their target audiences and the most common challenges they face. This approach means you’re more likely to put what you learn into practice straight away because you can easily connect the dots between what matters to you, your company and your industry.

Actionable handouts that get used
Everyone who takes part in my training experiences receives a selection of handouts and worksheets they can take back to the office and make use of in their day-to-day work. While digital learning is powerful, the act of engaging with a physical item gives you a better chance of consolidating the new skills you’ve discovered. The range of handouts varies by topic and training experience, but they’re always focused on the most critical take-aways from the experience to help jog your memory after the workshop, even if it’s been a few weeks or months since I trained you.

Prep work to help you feel confident
When you’re planning training for your team or another group, you need absolute confidence your facilitator will deliver a great experience. Included in all my training experiences are up to two prep meetings with you and key stakeholders (not workshop participants) so I can get to know your business or organisation’s challenges, and the best ways I can help you create a workshop to address those needs. We’ll also talk about how to promote the training experience to your team or group, and I can provide material and copy to support your communications to participants.

I also create totally bespoke training experiences for brands, industry groups, educational institutions and professional training organisations that cover my areas of interest (digital marketing, social media, travel & tourism marketing, ethics in marketing, mental health at work).
